Dear Sweet Yoga Community,
We are gathering the first signs of cool white snow, and we welcome the great Pulsation, for it WILL be warm again! And isn’t it grand to view anew the white covering blanket on our world?
This month of October we are so excited to have the diverse sharings of some of our community’s teachers during our Saturday $5 morning classes. We welcome Alice Robison, who teaches the restorative/Yin Wednesday evening class, Tamara Faust, whose Thai Massage practice has its home downstairs in our ALCHEMY center and who teaches yoga around Bozeman, and Chris Rice, Yogi extraordinaire and teacher at heart.
SATURDAY COMMUNITY and CHARITY CLASSES 9-10:30 am
Oct 3rd ANNA $5 Community Class
Oct 10th TAMARA $5 Community Class
Oct 17th ALICE Charity Class. $5 minimum donation. Proceeds will go to the Bike Kitchen.
www.bozemanbikekitchen.org from their webpage:
Community members come to the Bozeman Bike Kitchen (BBK) to learn to repair bikes, “cook” up new bikes from broken ones, and enjoy a culture of bicycles as transportation and fun. BBK collects donated bikes and provides the tools and volunteer mechanics to help anyone interested in learning. Bikes are then distributed to Bozeman citizens that couldn’t otherwise afford a bike.
Oct 24th CHRIS RICE Charity Class. $5 minimum donation Proceeds will go to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.
www.gallatinvalleyfoodbank.org From their webpage: The mission of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank is to improve food security throughout the Gallatin Valley. The Food Bank exists to help people who have an emergency need for food. Emergency need means that the family has run out of food and has no funds or food stamps to purchase food items. SATSANG ज्ञानकोश The company of the highest knowledge and Truth; the company of a Guru; contact with a person or an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the Truth. This highest company also takes the form of hearing or reading the words of highest awareness, reflecting on, discussing and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words, and bringing this awareness into ones daily life. (From Indopedia.org)
KIRTAN ज्ञानकोश (Sanskrit: “to repeat”) is call-and-response chanting performed in India’s devotional traditions. (from Wikepedia.com)
LECTURE AND DISCUSSION SERIES
Original Wisdom For Everyday Challenges
Tuesday evenings 7:30-8:30 pm with Dean Williams $10
This is an ongoing discussion series, with more to follow next month.
Tuesday, October 13 – Find Your Passion. Really.
Objects in nature use everything available to them, every resource they can grab, to maximize their
expression. They are always going for the most they can be. That’s passion, and where there is passion,
there is destiny. This discussion will explore how we can begin to live our passions.
Tuesday, October 27 – Individuals and Community.
Native wisdomkeepers look to nature to learn how best to live; natural objects are always fiercely
themselves with no emotional entanglements. They can be this way only because of the community
of objects around them. Individuals flourish only with a supportive community; community thrives
only when individuals do. We’ll talk about this dynamic relationship and how to maximize its effect.
Dean Williamson, Ph.D., has over 15 years training & experience as a teacher and shaman. He has trained and been initiated into the Andean (Peru), Tamang (Nepali), and Dagara (western Africa) traditions as taught by Marti Spiegelman (www.martispiegalman.com). He utilizes indigenous techniques and teachings to assist with modern problems.
