November Schedule and News

Dear Sweet Yoga Community,
It is the eve of Halloween and we write this from Driggs, Idaho, where we are here for a weekend workshop with Darren Rhodes from Tuscon, Az. We are filled with the Shakti of the darker side which calls us to face that which we fear as an opportunity to rise to the potential that we have within us to be more than we ever thought we could be. If we can regard every opportunity with an openness to Grace, in all the forms that it takes, then we can be filled with the sweet energy of gratitude. The last image above is Masuru Emoto’s photograph of a water crystal, frozen, which has been exposed to the word “gratitude”. His work has shown us from a scientific perspective that our intention and the perspective we have imprints itself on the world around us and crystalizes as beauty and love. Our power is beyond our understanding! www.masaru-emoto.net
In this month of Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the feeling of gratitude itself, how it fills us with its blessing of fullness, and how it magnetizes more of itself, attracting and welcoming the Grace that this world is ready to bestow when we open our hearts to receive. It is from this state of receiving, of receptivity that we give thanks. Thank you to all of you and your energies and efforts, your support and courage on this path.
We want to welcome back Chris Rice who will teach a community class this month, for his enthusiasm and patience and courage. We are honored to provide the space for Alice Robison to bring her Yin and Restorative series class back on wednesday evenings. Dean Williamson who practices Visionary Craniosacral Therapy and Shamanic Visionary Work & Divination will be continuing his lecture series on Tuesday, November 10th at 7:30. Finally, we welcome Tamara Faust to our schedule. Tamara has her Thai Massage and Bodywork practice in our Alchemy Center, and will teach a vinyasa and Anusara flow class on Tuesday evenings, beginning on November 10th. Below is her bio:
Tamara began teaching yoga after a six-month journey to India in 2006. In 2007 she completed her Yoga Alliance certified teacher training thru CorePower Yoga in Minneapolis. Her training focused on an Ashtanga-based vinyasa system, strongly influenced by Baron Baptiste’s Power yoga. Currently, Tamara’s teaching inspiration and focus is based upon the style of the Anusara system of biomechanical alignment and heart-oriented philosophy. Tamara’s classes appeal to all levels, physical abilities and age groups. Each class is a blend of vinyasa linking movement with breath combined with strength building asana, challenge, inspiration and love. Prior to teaching yoga, Tamara worked as a rock climbing and canyoneering guide in Southern Utah. In 2001 she received her degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin. But after a few short years in the office, Tamara felt the pull to head West. Currently, in addition to teaching yoga, Tamara practices Thai Yoga Bodywork at Alchemy Health & Yoga Center.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

We thank each and every one of you from our hearts, the place where we truly connect as One.
Blessings of Grattitude,
Anna and Susie

Original Wisdom For Everyday Challenges

This is an ongoing discussion series, with more to follow next month.
Your Lands and Your Cosmology.
Indigenous people were and are masters of knowing the land and the stars–for wisdom about how the world works and for insight into their place in it. If we do not know how we organize our worlds, we cannot thrive. We’ll begin to rearrange our individual cosmologies in this discussion.
Dean Williamson, Ph.D., has over 15 years training & experience as a teacher and shaman. He has trained and been initiated into the Andean (Peru), Tamang (Nepali), and Dagara(western Africa) traditions as taught by Marti Spiegelman (www.martispiegalman.com).
