I am the taste in the water,

the light in the sun and the moon…

I am the fragrance in the earth…

the life in the living…

I am the ritual and the worship…

I am the beginning and the end,

origin and dissolution, refuge, home, true lover…

I am the heat of the sun, I hold back the rain and release it;

I am death, and the deathless, and all that is and is not…

(excerpts from Krishna’s words to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita)

Dear Students and Friends,

As always, we are so grateful to share the teachings and path of yoga with you.  Together we grow and shift into becoming more of who we already are in our true essence.  Our practice is a field upon which we meet ourselves and each other, aspiring to choose the highest in our lives.  As Stephen Mitchell writes in the introduction to his translation of the Bhagavad Gita,

“The Gita is a love song to Reality, a hymn in praise for everything excellent, beautiful and brave. It is a love song to both the darkness and the light, to our own true Self in the depths of being.”

May we live our lives as such a song.

Light, Love and Life,

Anna and Susie

TEEN YOGA

Breathe and Move — EVERYONE IS WELCOME

MONDAYS from 4-5:15 pm $5

“Your work is discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.” - Buddha

What if everything you were seeking was inside yourself?  Well it is.  We all hold the ability to make our passage through this world — and the life as a teenager — easier.  We don’t have to go looking for it at a mall or by being popular — we all hold the key within.  The challenge is unlocking your inner heart and quieting the noise of the outside world to hear our hearts tell us what is truly right for us.  Yoga and breath help to unlock that.  Plus its a lot of fun moving your body, chanting funny OM sounds and going upside down in things like handstand and headstand.  Come try yoga and guaranteed you will leave feeling awesome.

MONDAY NIGHT ECSTATIC DANCE

with Shelly Heilweil Sept 5th and 12th

Ecstatic dance is an easy, fun way to integrate all of the good work you do into your own cohesive whole.  Let your body and mind, your heart and your spirit communicate freely while you effortlessly move to the sounds of world music.  Stretch, energize, invigorate, release, enlarge, meditate, explore, evolve.$5

I started dancing in Portland, OR in 1995 while a graduate student in clinical psychology, initially as exercise.  It quickly became clear that free dance, or ecstatic dance, or    intentional movement—whatever one calls this form—was the most direct road into achieving my best personal balance while navigating the emotional stresses and physical strains of being a student and a practitioner.  Dance is the best way I’ve found to process and to integrate daily experience into a cohesive whole.  Emotional events, mental activity, and physical effort can all combine for deeper experience and greater personal understanding.  Ecstatic dance is a moving meditation, a dynamic exploration, and spiritual celebration.  My teachers in this form have been Vin Marti (Soul Motion & 5 Rhythms), Paula Byrne of Soma Studio, & Jen Warnock, Meshi Chavez & Winky Wheeler of the Momentum Conscious Movement Studio, and all the dancers in my fine old collective, Portland Dance Journeys.  My goal is to create a vibrant Bozeman ecstatic dance community, where we all inspire one another in the dance.

MONTHLY SACRED CIRCLE GATHERING

with Dayna Kopple and Cyndi Dabney  AUGUST 6th, 7pm

Cyndi Fonda Dabney, a Cranio-Sacral practitioner, energy therapist, and spiritual seeker, will be speaking about the consciousness of our genes and DNA. There is a little know phenomenon called epigenetics, which is the study of cell consciousness and beliefs systems in the DNA.  Cyndi will talk about epigenetics and help you  to understand how dynamic and important our thoughts and beliefs are. Our beliefs control our biology. We are not stuck with our genes and our self -defeating behaviors.  We will touch into some of the science, but most importantly the spirituality of our consciousness in the microcosm and the macrocosm.
After a short discussion where she  will encourage your participation, questions and discussion, Cyndi will do a demonstration of a facial on 1/2 of a face ( any volunteers?) to show how aging, too, is part of our belief system. Then she will have a biophotonic scanner available to scan anyone (cost-$5) who is interested in finding out what their overall antioxidant score is.   Antioxidants are vitally important in preventing disease. This will be helpful to those of you who are on a nutritional support and just want to see if you are absorbing it properly, as well as to learn a bit more about antioxidants and disease prevention. The biophotonic scanner is based on the principle of photon light, so in a  sense it measures your photon light spectrum within the tissues of your body.
The presentation begins at 7 p.m. and the demonstrations begin around 8.  There will be a $5 donation fee to cover the cost of the facility.
For more info call:  Cyndi Dabney - 579-2300

Starts: 7:00 PM
Where: Montana Lotus Yoga studio located in the Alchemy Health & Yoga Center, 1119 N. 7th Avenue, Bozeman, MT

WORKSHOP

Prema Birthing Healing System... Transforming Lives…

PRACTITIONER & TEACHER TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

The most loving way to be REBORN into Love.

Prema Birthing is an extraordinarily powerful healing system. Directly from Source above to Source within you, it is a very freeing, loving and joyful experience.  Prema Birthing helps you release the old and reconnect with Divinity.   It is a birth into a new consciousness.    Every time you go through this healing technique, you cancel programs that were running during the time between signing your birth contract and your physical birth process. These programs may still be running your life in limiting ways.

This class will provide you with training and certification as a both a Prema Birthing Practitioner and a Teacher, so that you may offer this class others and bring this healing energy further to humanity.

Rebirth your mind, body and spirit by eradicating dis-ease from every aspect of your life.

The difference this time is that you are aware of the things you want to get rid of in your life before your “rebirthing”.  By bringing this consciousness of what you want to let go of into the process, and then letting go of it during the rebirthing, you emerge with the new program running on your HARD DRIVE that says you are whole and well.

“I had been trying so hard to lose weight for many, many years, and no matter what diet, or what cleanse I did, my body didn’t shift. Now that I had healed my birth trauma, suddenly my body was letting go of the weight … at the time of this writing, it’s three months after my last Prema Birthing workshop, and I have now let go of 20 pounds and lost two sizes. I have at least 20 more pounds to lose, and I’m completely confident that it will happen naturally and effortlessly.”

Come to me Great Mystery in the sky

Come into me

Come near me Great mystery

-Ojibwe traditional chant

Dear Sweet Community,

July Blossoms spring to Life!

Here are entries we send to you from the journeys we have taken seemingly separately and yet so parallel. We send you so much love, light and Life!

Susie:

What a transformational past week it has been for Anna and I.

Many you know that I sold my painting of Hanuman to a new studio in Boulder, Co. Last week Anna and I were able to deliver the painting to Boulder, Colorado. Many of you know Anna went on to do her vision quest and I had the honor to assist Jeanie Manchester in a level 3 immersion for the week.

The level 3 immersion is one of my favorite immersions and this was my 3rd time doing the level 3. In level 3 you get to study the Bhagavad Gita which is a beautiful epic poem about stepping into your Dharma (your path) of Knowing your purpose in this world and using your gifts to create more beauty and light. When we align with this higher knowing we ultimately step into our individual flow with the Divine, which is the meaning of Anu-sara.

The more we step into this higher place of knowing not only do we become more light but also the dark will be more attracted to the light. We will be tested and it is in these tests that we learn to stand in our light and yet to speak from the heart, to be a warrior of the heart! Our path will shift, relationships will end that do not support this new path, and new relationships will start that are in the same alignment.

I am excited to come back to this sweet community to share more from the heart and to honor all the gifts that each one of you bring into to the heart of Mt lotus. I am looking forward to going to Park City with a bunch of you, I just got word that Anusara will start selling my greeting cards with my art on it and then possibly prints starting in Park City! Many blessings to all of you, may we continue to be warriors of light and love as we step into this flow of life!

Anna:

I am writing parked at the “11 Mile General Store” an hour west of Colorado Springs, in a beautiful landscape that continues to pulsate the wide open space of my heart. 11 seems to comes in to remind me that all is well! An equal sign turned vertical!

Technology is available for connecting me to the world wide web in this parking lot. To the true web of Life, the connection is always available, anywhere, all ways! So I’ve driven here to contemplate and put in words and share with you the experience of these last few days…

I have just read Susie’s entry to this news cast…and am smiling, in the knowing that Life’s Great Mystery is so beautifully simple. I could transcribe her experience onto mine… All paths lead back to the One.

My Vision Quest on the eastern side of the Sangre de Christo mountains of Northern New Mexico gave me a deep experience of seeking the depths of the great Within for 3 days and 3 nights of simply just sitting with myself in the beauty of Nature, with a tarp and a sleeping bag, fasting save for a few sips of tea delivered at dusk by Jorge “Redtail Hawk”, the kind and steady presence of our Lakota ceremonial leader, sundancer and spiritual elder. “This will help you stay awake Anna Montana, so you can watch and listen in that state of not quite sleep”…

The beauty of ceremony before and after those 3 days magnified and anchored the holiness of this Quest, this portal. We had Sweat Lodge, Ceremonial Circle, fire, and again and again, the declaration, with confidence of our experiences, our intentions, our prayers, in the listening presence of one another. We all wanted the same thing!

…to experience our fullness, our true empowered beauty and potential to manifest through the vessel of our embodiment in this life, and to let go of that which kept us from being this warrior of the heart.

Yoga.

In those 3 days we dove deep into befriending ourselves, forgiving our shadow, listening to hear what is our purpose in this life, and into letting go of that which keeps us in the old familiar spaces that offer the security of an old layer, an old shell.

I came to the beautiful, clear and simple deeper understanding that this life is coursing through me wanting to be granted creative expression in the form of making Beauty, whatever form that takes! Art as…voice, hand, painting…asana…relationship…every choice, an expression of that flow, that life force through us.

In those 3 days and 3 nights I was guided to create a medicine wheel out of oak leaves sewn into the earth with pine needles, and stones, and the lichen heart rock that graced my small prayer tie space, my small protected circle that I sat in, laid in, prayed in, humbly.

My fears… and my returning to trust, again and again…to open to Grace and soften around each fear, each pulsing thunder rumble that stirred my heart and the stronger voice within, cutting through with electric lightening clarity…the strong storm winds and hail…followed by the quiet soaking rain, the smell of wet earth and ponderosa pine, the drum beat and chant of a fellow questor, the warmth of sun, butterflies, hummingbirds, ticks and ants, mosquitoes and birdsong…a symphony of perfect pulsing rhythms. The beat of my heart, the hunger, the thirst…and the deep contemplations that reveal the spinning medicine wheel of my 4 chambered heart, the 4 directions…in front, behind, left, right, above and below, leading to the seventh direction, the heart. My lichen heart rock, connected to the one great Heart.  Gratitude.

This heart of Creation knows and stirs with remembrance in each of us.

It pulses a constant flow of unfettered Beauty, the art of living in the flow, allowing that creation to come through us, each and everyone of us, the same in our worthiness, our humanness and great spirit, unique in our individual expression.

In Beauty may I walk.

MONTHLY SACRED CIRCLE GATHERING

with Dayna Kopple  JULY 1st

Sacred Circle Gathering and Humanity In Unity Meditation Group

Welcomes Dean Williamson, Shamanic Visionary/Mentor and Co-owner of Three Hearts Farm, as our guest speaker this month.  Dean will be sharing his craft in Dream Analysis, teaching us how to interpret our dreams.  Please bring a specific dream with you which stands out, so you can discover what it’s trying to convey.

Dreams and the Growth of an Empowered Self (7-8:30 PM)

Our dreams are the desires of our souls, and they provide us with teachings about our growth and spiritual development. Rather than dismiss dreams as being in the realm of fantasy or imagination, indigenous healers know dreams are direct speech and information that can help us overcome challenges, lend insight to our growth, and lead us to more fulfilled waking lives. Learn how to explore your dreams’ symbols of individual power, and discover their messages.

Mini kirtan and Diksha Blessings(8:45-10 PM)
We will then follow with a mini Kirtan led by Vance Thurston and Diksha (Pure Light Blessings) offerings given by everyone who has been trained in giving Diksha.  Diksha ( the physical transference of Divine Energy/Light, directly into the brain, which initiates the process of Enlightenment.  This transmission of energy or Light of Consciousness restructures the brain and brings it into its original state of illumination.  Diksha cleanses the mind, heart, emotions and personality of impurities and desires that no longer serve your journey.

When: Thursday, July 1st

Starts: 7:00 PM

Ends: 10:00 PM

Where: Alchemy Health & Yoga Center, 1119 N. 7th Avenue, Bozeman, MT

(in the yoga room)

Participation Fee: $15-$20 (sliding scale at your own discretion)

Please Contact: If you have a sacred craft you would like to share with the community, you’re invited to join us in leading a Sacred Circle

MONDAY NIGHT ECSTATIC DANCE

with Shelly Heilweil

TEEN CLASS

with Debby Greene

FEEL AWESOME

MONDAYS from 4-5:15 pm $5

“To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest human battle ever and to never stop fighting.”

- E.E. Cummings, American Poet (1894-1962)

Wow, E.E. Cummings sure had it figured out all those years ago and still today teens are facing lots and lots of STRESS! So many things tug at you as you charter your way through the often turbulent waters of growing up. It’s such an important job – this growing up and maturing into young adults. By offering teen yoga, I want to offer a place where you can leave your everyday stress and worries behind and feel safe and supported to just have fun and be in the moment for a small part of your week. The poses will be funny and challenging and we’ll focus on breath and leaving the world at the door. No competition – no one is better than anyone else – in yoga we are all perfect beings. What a joy and revelation! As 18 year old yogi Charlie Kelly says in this month’s issue of Yoga Journal,

“Yoga has made the world of SATs, final exams and college applications seem conquerable, and it has improved my performance as a competitive rock climber. More important, though, the practice has made me confident that, regardless of how I perform in those departments, I am still going to feel awesome, and feeling awesome is something every teen could use a little more of.”

Come to teen yoga on Mondays and Wednesday and prepare to feel AWESOME.

I Know deep inside
it is possible.
I believe that I can touch the sky, puncture through the glass ceiling
and stand between heaven and earth,
make earthly, incarnate, the Divine in me

the pulse in every cell of this body, the throb of Life bursting forth, unfettered unrestrained unquestioned
this heartbeat flowing through the conduit instrument rejoices in its realization of the Gift of embodiment.

Re cognizing…seeing again
Re membering…connecting all as one beat
merged into the knowing of love as Essence, the Will to live.

May Blessings…

We are beaming out to you from the Flathead lake area in Polson, Mt.  where we join our sister kula, Yoga Heart Montana, in a yoga therapy training with guest certified Anusara teacher, Ross Rayburn.  The teaching today was a beautiful anchoring of what is the beacon for our practice and our life…to open and deepen into our trust in the mystery of Life’s pulse, what we call in Anusara our first principle.    Our Yoga practice teaches us that when we stay connected through remembrance to the field of  the great mystery, we can move out into the world in the creative individual expression of our lives with grace, purpose, celebration and the ascending  journey into our highest selves.  May we open to Grace every moment, every time we step out…

This Friday’s gathering we will be doing meditations guided by Sai Maa.  These meditations will teach us how to work with Divine Light to transform our bodies on a cellular level as well as raise our consciousness to Divine Consciousness.  We’ll also be offering diksha (Divine Light Blessings) sessions to everyone, followed with music to sing and dance to composed by Vance Thurston on guitar.  5:30-7pm

SACRED CIRCLE GATHERING

Kris Hill from Hill Botanical will be with us on Friday May 7 to share her knowledge of plants we can believe in and will present a short lecture on herbal medicine and which plants are most obtainable from your Gallatin Valley Yard.  7:30-9pm

MONDAY NIGHT ECSTATIC DANCE

with Shelly Heilweil

FEEL AWESOME

MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS from 4-5:15 pm $5

April Newsletter and Schedule

“Look deep inside…for the timeless spark…shining forever…laugh at the dark…

We’re all one…no difference here…Stand tall in your Truth…no place to fear…

Open the curtains, let in the Light…New day dawning…let go the Night…

Open to Grace…All dreams come true…so never stop shining…it’s up to you…”

-John Friend

Happy Spring!

The world of Nature is poised to burst forth in all of its growing splendor after a long dormancy under a heavy blanket of snow.  Change is precarious…shaky…dramatic.

Seed pods literally explode in seeming massive self destruction, annihilating all of the limited structures that keep growth and freedom at bay. Love knows where the apocalyptic button is that takes us through the portal into freedom…If we are willing.  Birth is traumatic.

So much in life offers us to fall back into an old way, an old pattern or habit (”habit”=French for clothes, cloak) that grants us the illusion of safety, when there is something deeper down inside us that Knows there is something more… something beckoning us…

The longing and even ache that we may feel in our hearts is the gift of life that propels us to act and choose that which affirms life, even if it looks like devastation, like an eggshell cracking…a seedpod bursting…only to reveal a precious and tender Beauty on its way, unquestioning its journey to be a crocus popping through the snow.

This path of Yoga  invites us to live with more awareness of what we are not enriched by in our lives, what we’d like to change, how we can change by how we can change ourselves.   What an amazing opportunity!  How will we be the shift?  In Spring we can plant the seeds of intention to step into the highest aspect of our selves.  May we be mindful of how we live, how we speak, how we think, and how we fertilize our growth with these choices.

Life will bring us what it will, no matter what…but knowing we have a choice empowers us to begin.    Will we heed the call and gently, compassionately override the smaller fearful voice, and step into the Greatness of the flourishing beings we are capable of being?

Life has a way of preventing what we think we want and throws us back into the storm of our own rebirth. Can we be brave and stay with the energy of the storm, the comings and goings of snow and sleet and hail…ride it out because there are things to be learned in particularly difficult situations that cannot be learned otherwise?   Often these learnings come from experiences that we do not willingly aim towards…At times, nothing short of revolution in our orientation will allow passage through this phase of our lives…this spring, this rebirth.  In this space of openness and vulnerability, we can hear the intimacy of life, feel its pulse, its music.  A part of us wants to speed up past that tentative space where we may say…ok…that’s enough of that…I know what to do…go back to what I know…what is familiar…my old cloak…apparent safety…

We may think we know what is best, and decide what experience we should be having, and even within a spiritual direction, we may think we should know what is meant to be happening, and that we should be directing our own unfoldment.  Our stories…

In a truer space of intimately opening to the Grace of all things, knowledge of appearances dissolves…we do not know what things will  look like.  Does a broccoli plant know that it will bud forth broccoli?

…What if there were a dimension as yet uncharted, unknown, sweet with a perfume never smelled, a nectar never tasted, a beauty beyond anything seen, a joy…Spring…a whole new world as yet unimagined opening up?

May the faith be stronger than the uncertainty, the love be stronger than the fear.

There is immense beauty and opportunity that lies beneath our old ways, our old wounds.  With forgiveness and compassion for ourselves and for Life, we welcome the Spring of the new world…

May we step into that place of knowing that the Heart of Creation is within us, and all we need is right here.

May we recognize the Preciousness that is the center of our Being…

Where does that live inside of me and you?

May we respond to that intelligence within us and each other…

It’s up to us!

Shine!

Anna and Susie

In this month’s gathering we will be combining our combining our official first Humanity in Unity Meditation gathering along with hosting Diksha Initiations and Training form 6:30-9:00pm as a part of our Monthly Sacred Circle Gathering.

HUMANITY IN UNITY MEDITATION GROUP

A meditation group founded from the Master Teachings of Her Holiness Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi.  Sai Maa’s mission is to bring Global Enlightenment to humanity.  Her teachings are about working with the Light and illuminating the mind and raising our vibrational frequencies into the Light.  These gatherings will be held on the first Friday of every month in Alchemy Health & Yoga Center.

This month’s gathering will be on brain illumination, as we’ll explore healing ourselves by learning and participating in watching a very special DVD on brain illumination.  Come and join us in learning the importance of illuminating our brains, how to do it, how it heals us and why it is recommended to incorporate it into our lives as a daily practice.  This month only we’ll be including this gathering as a part of the Sacred Circle Gathering due to the combination of healing techniques taught throughout the evening.  Please join us for an amazing event and opportunity to enrich ourselves more deeply in the Light.

DIKSHA INITIATIONS AND TRAINING

This is a very special event!  ” Diksha is a powerful technique for illuminating the brain.  It is the physical transference of energy or divine Light into the brain that initiates the process of enlightenment.” ~ H.H. Sai Maa.  Until now, one could only receive training under certain circumstances.  But just recently, Her Holiness Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi has announced this training to be gifted to the world in supporting Global Enlightenment, by allowing everyone to be initiated into giving Diksha!  We welcome you to join us for this trascendental and transformational experience! *For allowing the use of the space and for the special tools needed for this event, a minimum of a $10 or $15 is kindly requested.  Thank You.

“Melt Your Heart, Blow your Mind”

(John Friend 2010 tour title)

March Greetings to all,

After last night’s full moon, the sun shines bright on this bluebird day.  With mild temperatures, we have felt a twinge of spring in the air, and the stirrings of the seeds underground.  Do seeds question whether to come forth with their unique blueprint of creative manifestation?  There is inborn into the Web of Life an intrinsic intelligence that defies the rational.  May we access the great intelligence born of balance:  instinct (body),  intellect (mind), and intuition (heart).  This is the art and science of our human life-practice, on and off the mat.  Thank you to all of our teachers, everywhere and taking all forms they do, some human, some plant, mineral, animal, and etheric.  May we allow our stories to dissolve like the snow, washing away self limitation and birthing the most creative essence that we each embody.  By saying yes to the great Balance, when we are in the flow, we intuitively and instinctively Know how to choose and what to go with.  Our intellect can serve the former with its great precision and clarity.  When we can trust these deep currents within us, our lives unfold as the artistic expressions they are.  We can live with purpose and the deep gift of fulfillment from contributing and creating from our Heart.

We are so grateful to have birthed our yoga space within the context of Alchemy Health and Yoga center.  We invite ideas and support in all forms.  We also offer space for community gatherings and part time/ by the hour office space for private practice.  We open our doors to evolution and growth in creative business practices.  May we create new paradigms and models beyond the existing forms and structures, and birth a new world, one day at a time.

With Great Love and Appreciation,

Anna and Susie

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Dear Sweet Yoga Community,

February greetings on this second eve after the first full moon of the decade.

After the moon is full, it begins to wane again, and with each day loses part of its brilliance.  This movement into darkness is likened to moving into the ’shadow’, which we tend to associate with that which is unseen, unknown, and uncharted.  In Jungian psychology, the shadow is an integral part of our psyche- it is the storehouse of all that we are but are afraid to show in our outward persona- not just the forbidden self, but the “gold” or the noblest part of ourselves as well.   We celebrate the luminosity of the full moon, but often overlook the richness of the dark side of the moon, or even the velvet darkness of the sky that surrounds its light.

This month, we celebrate Mahashivaratri, the Great Night of Shiva. This celebration falls amidst the darkness of a moonless part of the month. Each month,  the fourteenth day of the lunar cycle when the moon is waning is called Shivaratri.  But of all of the Shivaratris, the one we celebrate in this month, is said to be the most significant, “Maha” or Great, and with the most heightened spiritual power.  It  is the night when Shiva is said to have performed the Tandava Nritya or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction.  This dancing Nataraj or Shiva, is depicted above as a bronze cast murti, or sculpture.

Shiva represents none other than our Highest self- the self which in its essence exists beyond duality and contradiction, and dwells in the great realm of paradox.   The world of opposing ideas: light/dark, good/bad, winning/losing, eating/fasting, action/passivity, possession/poverty, sharp consciousness/ meditative consciousness, belief that more is better/ belief that less is better- keeps us in a split, a state of internal warfare and suffering, in attachment to one of a pair of opposites which gives us the illusion of safety and seeming contentment.  There is a part of us that knows the precariousness of living on one side of an equation, for it keeps us in judgment and fear.

Shiva’s state of bliss in his Tandava dance is created by the supreme insight that is inclusive and celebratory of the full spectrum of experience on our human journey, all that we must suffer and endure on our path to maturation.

Yoga literally means union, and like the word “religion” whose root is religere- to bind, link, bridge- is a practice of inclusion and healing, reconciliation and acceptance.  This perspective is no less than a tremendous and courageous leap in evolution where opposing forces can teach each other something and produce a depth of understanding and insight into one of the most precious qualities of humankind:  a deep knowing in the heart that is born of transcendent wisdom which glimpses a realm beyond duality, one that encompasses multiplicity as the expression of the One.

We honor Shiva on Mahashivaratri with the repetition of the mantra Om Namah Shivaya, which means “I bow to and honor my highest Self.”  The blessings of this mantra are said to be magnified a thousand fold on this night, and we honor this ritual as a way to focus our intentions and contemplate our unbounded state of Consciousness known as Shiva, the One Supreme Reality, who has created all the forms of this Universe.

This year, Mahashivaratri falls on February 12th.  We will have our monthly Kirtan on this night rather than the second to last Friday of the month as we usually do.  We are also delighted to welcome back Sundari for a Valentine’s Weekend of Anusara Yoga, “Stoke the Great Fire of the Heart.”  Please look through new additions below, including a weekly Mindful Movement gathering on Monday nights with Shelly, Tuesday meditation series with Angela, Yin and Restorative yoga with Alice, a monthly sacred circle gathering with Dayna, a parent yoga coop with revolving child care during the Thursday 9am class, Tuesday and Thursday night flow with Susie and Tamara, and ongoing classes dedicated to the Anusara method of ‘aligning with the Divine.’

May we all dance in the middle of our transformation.

Love and Light,

Susie and Anna

  • Monday night Mindful Movement with Shelly Heilweil 7:15-8:30 pm $5 Beginning Monday Feb. 1st

Ecstatic dance is an easy, fun way to integrate all of the good work you do into your own cohesive whole.  Let your body and mind, your heart and your spirit communicate freely while you effortlessly move to the sounds of world music.  Stretch, energize, invigorate, release, enlarge, meditate, explore, evolve.

shelly-bio-pic I started dancing in Portland, OR in 1995 while a graduate student in clinical psychology, initially as exercise.

  • Tuesday and Thursday evenings are $5 Flow night!  5:30-6:45pm with Tamara on Tuesdays and Susie on Thursdays.

(Cash only.  Montana Lotus punch cards do not apply).  Utilize the techniques you’ve learned from the Anusara’s Universal Princiles of Alignment in a fun 75-minute vinyasa flow session. This class is for all levels of yoga practitioners.

A Note form Alice:
Winter greetings to All.
The practice continues and I invite you to come and take a closer look at yourself. As I rededicate myself to my yoga and meditation practice, every time I come to a class or practice at home, I see that the most radical act a human being can do is to learn to love and accept themselves just as they are.  Who am I? What are my core values? Am I truly happy? That’s what we take a looksee for. Through mindfulness, non-attachment, and letting go we begin to see ourselves, people, relationship, the weather, the suffering of individuals, the environment, politics, war for what it is. Not what our mind thinks it is. Stilling the senses, including the mind, allows a gate to open. All is changing (anicca). It is not concrete. When we accept this natural Truth the realm of possibility is wide and varied. The practice of loving-kindness or metta allows us to recondition the brain towards compassion for ourselves and for all beings. This is the stuff Martin Luther King Jr. and Ghandi based their revolutions on. It is not a path every individual will take up but it is a path that is available to all beings. I welcome you to take a walk while being still. All are welcome. With metta, Alice
Yin practice will concentrate on winter forms.
